One of a pair of saddlebag (khurdgin) pile face panels, this SE Persian tribal artifact showstwo rows of a giant petal palmette pattern on an old ivory ground, with accents in red, teal, rose, green, goldenrod and medium blue, with chains of small stars or flowers in between and simple carnations or hyacinth sprays at one end. Navy reversing fan palmette border and intact weft-patterned closure tabs. Good condition, moderate weave. Bold drawing in a small format.
