The Yamud (Yomud) tribe is a large Turkmen group along the eastern Caspian weaving a wide assortment of carpets, rugs, four panel engsis (as here), and assorted bags and other wooly artefacts. The reds run toward aubergine and the patterns are geometric. The wool, knotted on a wool foundation, is of high quality.
