From the “Bakshaish†period just before 1900, this attractive rustic NW Persian carpet features a medium blue field expanding to triangular corners with large leaf plants, while supporting a rust madder sub-field. Stepped diamond cream and navy nested medallion. Ashiks in field, leaves in medallion. Ivory border with stiff leaves and hexagonal rosettes. Moderate weave on cotton. Handspun materials. From the “Caucasian†period of Heriz weaving. Good condition.
