A relatively early medallion Herz carpet, still noble despite the spot wear, which shows a rust-red madder field supporting a cream medallion with a ragged fringe outline. Palmette pendants inside and outside the medallion. Sparsely decorated ecru corners. Navy strip style main border with starkly geometric reversing turtles.Moderate weave, cotton foundation. Visible repilings. Fair condition, but very attractive.
