This is a well-woven sacatter from the vllagers in the Chahar Mahal district in central Persia. These rugs are often called “Bakhtiari”, although these latter weave mostly bags and not pile rugs. In the centre ius a semi-geometric palmette and straight vine medallion. Red border with two palmette types and orientations. Saturated colours with a good green and yellow.
