This is a well-woven sacatter from the vllagers in the Chahar Mahal district in central Persia. These rugs are often called “Bakhtiariâ€, although these latter weave mostly bags and not pile rugs. The navy ground is closely covered by tiny flowers and supports an ivory stepped and pendanted panel with a mobile palmette pattern. In the centre ius a semi-geometric palmette and straight vine medallion. Red border with two palmette types and orientations. Saturated colours with a good green and yellow. Good condition, eminently floorable.
