The influence of Heriz rugs was particularly strong in Chahar Mahal Bakhtiari weaving in much of the 20th century. This colourful antique scatter shows a bold ivory quatrefoil medallion enclosing four simple palmetttes, set on a slightly shaped indigo subfield with foliate décor, on an encompassing red field and framed by a saturated yellow main border with a geometric tendril. Dense, solid natural palette and firm, though moderate, weave. Good condition.
