Wool foundations, as here, characterize the extremely robust weaving of the Kurds in and around Bidjar town, and the most popular design/colour combination is the Herati on navy blue. The inner ivory border shows stretched oak leaves alternating with star rosettes, and the strip-style abrashed main border features reversing turtles. Bidjars are built to last and many have entered their second century totally unscathed. Medium, ultra-compact weave, good condition.
