A rare inscribed west Persian Kurdish city carpet with two columns of blue acanthus volutes, tangerine rosettes and joined forked arabesques, on an ecru ground. Main ecru border of forked arabesques, palmettes and rosettes. Very solid and compact weave. Dated 1321 = 1904. All-wool construction. An excellent example of a Garrus-period, pre-Bidjar town weaving. Compact and robust.
