A complex, tour-de-force design with a navy field awash with mobile, multi-tone long serrated leaves, centred by a small rectangular rug-in-rug medallion with more leaves and a focal scalloped ogive. Ivory corners set within rosette lattice areas. Main red border shows a dense small volute accented with octogrammes, cartouches and escutcheons. Ecru cartouche in upper outer border gives the weaver's name. Fine weave, excellent wool and highly professional dyeing. Cotton foundation, good condition. Probably Natanz origin, Dabir workshop or equivalent.
