Not a Farahan, but probably an Afshar copy of a SW Persian scatter, with a slate blue sub-field densely covered with chicken, “Memling guls", squares and stylised flowers, centred by an ecru six hooked lozenge pole medallion with each reserve enclosing knots and more fowl. Ecru field with chickens, botehs and octagons. Red main border with botehs and birds. Definitely a fun rug. Natural dyes. Medium weave. Good condition. True folk art.
