Faraghan-Sarouks wert woven only in the 1880-1914 period, and display a leathery handle, short pile and, as here, a madder red. The ecru field shelters a notched and pointed rectangular cartouche sub-field. A central navy stepped and faceted diamond medallion encloses a rust sub-medallion with bold yellow accents. The medallion pendants are very slim navy cartouches and flowers in similar, small scale fill in around the major motives. Navy strip style main border with various palmette and stems. Well-wove. Good condition.
