This colourful tapestry shows a scene froma “Don Quixote†series with exotically dressed male and female figures expelling our hero from an arcaded stone structure with two thickly draped arcatures, down a few steps and into a verdant environment. Active dog hurries the proceedings. Border of vases, cups and floral elements. Probably Aubusson in southern France. Wool pattern wefts. Well-preserved natural dyes. Good condition, especially considering the period.
