The light straw-yellow field shows two columns of eight “Memling guls†with stepped lozenge shaped minor devices, including colour samplers, between. Ecru border of “wedgie shoes†interlaced to form a strip-style narrow lattice. All wool construction, moderate/coarse weave. The “Memling gul†first appears on 15th century Turkish rugs depicted by the Flemish Painter Hans Memling. Good condition. SW Caucasian.
