This western Chinese, Xinjiang province carpet shows a classic theee column pomegranate tree and basal vase design on a straw-beige field. Partially panel-abrashed border system with a main stripe of the spiral volute cloudheads of the Yun-tsao Tou (“clouds and rain”) pattern. Other three inner borders in Turkmen style. Uncommon size for such oasis city carpets. Medium weave on cotton. Good condition.
