A bold navy octogramme medallion with a cream octofoil sub-medallion and millefleurs filling, floats on the open straw field, supported by extended red arabesque-filled corners. Creamy straw main border of well-spaced palmettes and lancet leaves. Flanking cochineal red minor stripes with rosette and profile blossom pattern. SE Persian city carpet with slightly chunky early Revival Period drawing, fine weave, cotton foundation. Good condition consistent with the age.
