From the large tribal group adjacent to the Qashghai in SW Persia, this piece shows a tripartite hooked pole medallion of rust red and cream lozenges, uniformly displaying stylised chickens, on a dark blue sub-field decorated with more chickens and smalloctagons. The ivory field features side and end triangular projects. The multiple narrow borders feature octagon and triangle repeats. Wool construction. Moderate weave. Soft wool. Good condition.
