This finely woven Kurduish city ruglet shows a navy and medium blue palette with a cartouche design with heavily stylised animals with twill-pattern pelts. The twill texture is repeated in the central navy medallion. Narrow ivory rosette border. Altogether a very weird rug. The weaver was undoubtedly working from an image and had trouble rendering it into the knotted pile medium. Woven with short warps. Good condition, but ends need securing.
