In a style related to flatwoven Kuba soumak rugs, the royal blue field hosts three pointed, reticulated cruciform medallions with dark blue central octagons. Secondary lozenge “guls†decorate the dark blue lateral “flaps†and tiny animals accent the pattern. Characteristic Kuba-Lesghi ivory border with flattened octagons in red and blue. The mixing of pile and flatweave designs is a typical later Caucasian trend, to expand the basic design pool. All wool construction, leathery handle. Good condition.
