Antique Persian Tehran. Tehran rugs were woven in Persian capital in the interwar period. This finely woven scatter shows an ascending allover, offset design of modules of roses, forming an informal lattice on the ecru-bone field. Birds and roses are displayed on the bone-ecru border, a subtle reference to the roses and nightingales of Shiraz.
