The sandy-straw field displays a rustic Turkish version of the traditional Persian Harshang (“crab”) pattern with floating ragged palmettes, squares with eccentric strapwork extenders, a single whole cartouche sand various amusing stylized leaves and flowers. Details in rust, tangerine, straw, goldenrod and slate. Tangerine-rust main border with tilted palmettes and doubly serrated straight leaves. Wool foundation, coarse weave. West Anatolian workshop rug.
