We originally called it “Turkishâ€, but the doubled lion and sun motif at the red fiield top is purely Persian and one would never find it on a Turkish rug of any soft. Horses,, a Bactrian camel, a lion, animal combats, birds, comical ladies and numerous bouquets in martini glasses all add to the whimsy. Boteh and tendril minor borders and, a main stripe featuring birds, stars and rosettes. Cotton foundation, medium weave. Good condition.
