Aubusson. This tapestry woven piece in the late 18th century French style shows an octagon with an inner octagon, acanthus arabesquerie and floral wreath, on a slate ground. Extra slate panels at the field ends with acanthus work. Main bone border with open diamonds and swags. Six plain outer stripes.
