Aubusson features nature motifs specifically flowers. Unlike plush hand-knotted Savonnerie carpets, traditional Aubussons are flat-woven using a tapestry technique (point nouŽ or interlocking warp and weft threads), creating a smooth, lightweight surface similar to a heavy textile or wall hanging. Fine-quality contemporary or antique weaves feature high warp counts (such as 14 to 16 warps per inch), requiring hundreds of hours of manual labor per square meter. The item you're interested in is in good condition. Please note, however, that all lots are sold "AS IS." Condition reports are provided as a courtesy and do not guarantee the item's condition, quality, or authenticity. The absence of a report does not imply perfect condition.
