A recent treand among Tabriz weavers has been to upgrade to very fine carpets, with, as here, silk foundation, short piles of excellent, resilient wool, and complex medallion designs on lighter grounds. Here an ecru octogramme sub-medallion organizes the round outer meallion with eight projecting itonal palmettes, all on the sandy-straw ground. Elegant curving tendrils are anchored by polychrome, complex palmetes. Extended corners. Rose border with volute half medallions. Cisply complex palette. As new condition with a very fine weave.
