This moderate/coarse, all wool Moroccan piece shows a complex palette,. with a dark blue field centred by a nested ecru, yellow and rust stepped medallion, and a bold zig-zag of triangles above and below. More triangular motives fill in. Multiple borders include:a rayed diamonds outermost stripe, a red reversing fan palmette band; a wider border with facing arrowheads; and a quincunx patterned inner. Much more elaborate than typical Moroccan work. Probably from the lowlands near Marrakesh. Good condition. Good
