This well-woven northern Indian urban carpet in the Persian style shows n eggshell field supporting a near black, slightly lobed and pointed palmette medallion enclosing an ivory ellipse with a bouquet of roses. Near black corners with volutes, forked arabesques and half palmette pendants. Field pattern of petal palmettes, complex rosettes, composite flower sprays and a broken, single level vinery, detailed in goldenrod, light blue, light green and darkest red. Near black broken border with curvy forked arabesques and transgressing palmettes. Cotton foundation. As new condition.
