Bold simplicity triumphs in this red/royal blue/ off white Chahar Mahal, CentraL Persian, village scatter, The intense red field displays a roughly ragged oval medallion with fat pendants. A charmingly eccentric red octofoil marks the centre, a few small flowers circulate about and abrashed blue corners enclose the wonkiest turtle palmettes. Off white border with a very bold fat leaf and “palmette" repeat. Bakhtiari/ Chahar Mahal rugs are known for their intense palettes and are more popular in Europe than in America. Good condition.
