This is everything a classic urban Kashan carpet should be: ruby red field with a bilateral arrangement of palmettes, carnations and vines; navy and cream nested flame edged, ogival pendanted medallion with en suite corners; navy border with reversed petal palmettes. Short pile fine weave. Recent. As new condition. The classic Kashan design protocol was initiated in the 1930's and has served the weavers well unto the present day.
