From the central Persian religious centre, this finely woven urban carpet shows a “cane” design of vertical stripes in shades of light blue, cream, straw and coral. Ivory border with reversing turtles. Cotton foundation, short shorn pile. Design is generously derived from 19th century shawl textiles. Sophisticated Persian/Middle Eastern taste.
