An extremely attractive example of the “Animal Pelt†group, with a beautifully abrashed teal pelt sub-field, spindly “armsâ€, and a light cream ground. Mountain†corners each with four amusing spotted gold dragons. Pale green stepped diamond medallion has four more attendant dragons. Near black Zanbaki border of rosettes and tilted irises. Plain outer teal stripe. Medium, even weave. Excellent brown-black corrosion etching effect. Cotton foundation. An outstanding NW Persian village carpet woven to exacting standards. Good condition.
