From the Garrus period – pre WWI – this “Bookcover†layout Kurdish city carpet shows an open ecru field with well-developed abrashed light blue corners edged with scallops. Navy medallion with Mina Khani design and amusing birds at the lateral points of the pendants. Red border with Zanbaki design of rosettes and tilted irises. Wool foundation, compact yet flexible, good condition. A graphically exacting rug with a strong light/dark contrast.
