Our collection of Farahan Sarouk scatters is unparalleled, and ecru ground pieces constitute a significant sub-collection, as evidenced here by this piece with an implicit row and column design of shield palmettes and complete upright flowers alternating. The pattern is not perfectly symmetric vertically and, upon careful looking, the side-to-side execution is not perfect, either. All this points toa rustic rug, woven without cartoon or sampler. The intricate pattern was carried in the minds of the weavers, who worked together seamlessly. Near black border with modules including five posy sprays. Fine weave, good condition.
