This finely woven, cotton foundation, central Persian city scatter with a velvety Manchester-spun pile, shows a subtle square gridwork of tightly wound spiral floral volute on a nearly covered red ground. Near black main border of in-and-out escutcheons in straw and teal, and teal-blue minors anchored by octilobe rosettes. A:second- generation†Mohtasham-style Kashan. in good condition. Exceptionally well-balanced and unusual field pattern.
