This extremely rare, giant SW Caucasian Kazak shows a navy field with a three by six unidirectional array of fringed, floating palmettes in straw, teal, light blue, red and green, Adapted from 18th century originals. Fringed small geometric flowers set amongst them.. Red main border of rosettes and paired lilies. Moderate weave. Good condition. Could this outstanding carpet be NW Persian?
