This SW Caucasian village rug shows an unusual field pattern of five poled ascending palmettes and tonally en-suite leaves, in goldenrod, royal blue and ecru, on a near black ground. Supporting small animals, tiny birds and stars. Classic “crab†strip style border with modules in red, blue, and green on ecru ground. All wool construction,. moderate/coarse weave. Good condition. Natural dyers and handspun materials.
