The Khamseh tribes are the “Other†nomadic group in SW Persia along with the Qashghai. Stripe or “cane†designs are popular, here with blue flower chain stripes alternating with red rosette-and-leaf bands, all separated by narrower ecru reversing winged palmette verticals. Ivory border of floating, hooked divided diamonds. Bitonal chessboard pile end panels characteristic of southwest Persian rustic work. Wool foundation, medium weave. Local tribal wool. Good condition.
