The conjoint ruglet pair shows similar images of a kiung throttling a lion in the Assyrian/Achaemenid style, probably taken from a book illustrating famous rock reliefs or sculptures around Iran. Deep red ground, with attendant flowers to each side; both with arches with twin lions in the spandrels. Ivory boteh-leaf and meander borders. Can be separated or kept together for Persian monarchists. Cotton foundation, fine weave, good condition.
