This later 19th century pice in a Persian format shows a shaped and pointed red sub-field decorated with small flowerheadsand vinery, with an ivory medallion with both escutcheon and palmette pendants. Red and navy oblique corner pieces show small round rosettes. Navy border with curling leaf and flower sprays, and rosettes. Finely woven, Manchester wool pile feels like velvet. A very attractive early 2nd period work from the esteemed Mohtasham workshop. Good condition for the type.
