Not a Qashghai, but from Khorassan in NE Persia, this wildly eccentric scatter shows a chevron-patterned hauz (water tank) central pattern, with additional ecru corners squares, on a near black ground randomly decorated with octagons, a gul, quincunxes. lozenges, stars and human stick figures. Ecru zig-zag inner border and reciprocal outer stripe. Wool foundation, moderate weave. Uninhibited tribal work.
