From the “Caucasian†period of antique Heriz weavings, this looks like a giant Kazak in rust, abrashed light blue, abrashed medium blue, and ecru. A three diamond ecru pole medallion is set on the plain copper red field, within rosette-filled stepped corners. The cream main border shows double stiff faceted tendrils organizing abstract forked arabesques and pinecone symmetric palmettes. All diagonals are multiply stepped. Magnificent natural yes and totally handspun materials. Generally good condition.
