In a palatial garden setting, a camel-led caravan moves froright whileRoman soldier and hores proceed from the left. In the centre a soldier embraces a female (?) figure. Behind is a fountain and arcaded gazebo, with a palace behind. Well shaded foliage on the leafy trees and shrubs in the fore – and middle grounds. Rose bushes, cypresses, lemon trees, creepers and oaks share the scene. Red-brown border with face, doves, roses, dogs, spindles and various flowers. Wool pattern wefts. Good condition.
