Not a south Caucasian Karabagh, but an attractive, semi-geometric kellegi (long rug) fropm Fars Province in SW Persia. The abrashed dark to royal blue field is centred by a nine lozenge pole medallion in ecru, rd and medium blue. Full and half hooked lozenges fill in the side areas, together with smaller stars, tiny animals, rosettes and other lesser geometric devices. Narrow ivory main border with an undulating vine and attached palmettes. Wool foundation, medium/moderate weave. Good condition with all natural dyes.
