The oval cream field shows a navy octogramme medallion with rust palmette radiations, together with navy and rust corners. Stained glass drawing of serrated leaves, palmettes and broken stems. Navy borders with rosettes, small vases and leaves with curled tips. Velvety short pile of Manchester spun merino wool. Cotton foundation with a fine, urban weave. An attractive c. 1890 central Persian city scatter.
