In a niche layout “meditation carpet†design with a central gently scalloped elliptical medallion, two different escutcheon pendants, all in reds and blues, on a cream field activated by volute forked arabesques and a few wiry cloud bands. Surging, flame-outlined spandrels. Sapphire blue border with tumultuous ragged leaves and half cartouches in red tones. Very finely woven on cotton, from a capable urban workshop in the old Persian capital city.
